Experts detect African swine fever outbreak in Rostov Region
ROSTOV-ON-DON, Jan 9 (PRIME) -- Experts have detected an outbreak of African swine fever among wild boars in the Rostov Region, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight said in a statement on Monday.
"Laboratory tests… of pathological material taken from the bodies of two dead boars found in the Millerovsky District of the Rostov Region… were positive for African swine fever," the statement read.
A quarantine is to be announced in the area, a representative for the service said adding that outbreaks in four districts of the region were seen in 2022.
